Primary Sources
Auxiliary National Member Home Page - This is the gateway to
information about the orgainization. This page contains links to
the major electronic resources including AUXDATA, the eDirectory,
individual departments, manuals, forms, and training resources.
Perhaps the most useful element of this page is the
"What's New" section that dominates the center frame. This
section gives short reports on new and changing programs, new
publications, policy changes, and just about anything else that
is going on at the national level. Reading "What's New"
on a regular basis is one of the best ways to keep up with
what's happening in your Auxiliary.
Office if the Chief
Director - Another great source of information about the
Auxiliary and the Coast Guard. This is the place to look for
communications from the Chief Director, manuals, information on
proper wear of uniforms, awards, customs, courtesy, and many
other useful links.
Auxiliary
eDirectory - Need to find a Division officer or a fellow
flotilla member's contact info? Sign up for the national
eDirectory. This searchable directory contains contact and
office information for every Auxiliarist. While you are there
please check to make sure all your contact information is
current.
District 13 DIRAUX - This is the website of our District
Director of Auxiliary. It contains useful information on local
policies, the district calendar and opportunities to serve.
District 13 DIRAUXNOTES - The Director's primary
communication with the Divisions and Flotilla's is through the
bi-monthly DIRAUXNOTES. Thought you heard that we must all wear
our hats backwards? Dispel the myths, read it here! The archives
are a great resource for new members and new leaders.
Common
Auxiliary Acronyms - Confused by the acronyms we use? Is the
acronym for Division Vice Captain DVC or VCP?
Check out this list. By the way, a VCP is the acronym for
Division Vice Captain. DVC is the acronym for Division Chief - a
staff position on the national staff.
Training
Our colleagues in Division 8 are developing an
annotated guide to the
Auxiliary Crew and Coxswain programs.
Take your Incident Command
System 100 & 200 training online with
FEMA's
Emergency Management Institute. [IS100 & IS200] Once you
receive your course completion certificate it can be sent to
DIRAUX (attention C. Claytor) for entry into AUXDATA. There are
a number of additional classes you can take online with EMI
related to disaster preparedness, response and recovery.

Information & Communications Services
Discount Adobe Acrobat & Adobe Acrobat Approval for the
Auxiliary - Tired of filling forms out by hand and mailing
them to your IS officer? Do you want to take advantage of all
the Auxiliary forms now available electronically? As you may
already know the free acrobat reader does not let you save the
edits you make to a form -- you can print the form but after
that it is gone.
As a member of the Auxiliary you can take advantage of
special pricing on Adobe products. For most members all you will
need is a product called Adobe Acrobat Approval. This
costs about $7 for a license and $21 for the CD the
software it comes on (and yes we know it is strange for the CD
to cost more than the license). We can provide the CD locally
but you need to purchase the $7 license to get a product
registration code so the program can be installed on you
machine. Make sure you order the version of Approval that
works on you computer's operating system (Windows or Macintosh).
Navigation
Commercial
Traffic Information - The Columbia Bar pilots maintain a
website with information on commercial traffic arrivals,
sailings and moves.
Army Corps of Engineers -
Hydrographic Surveys of the Columbia River Channel - These
are updated on a regular basis.
